The Medical Center is home to over 2,000 basic and clinical faculty and 3,000 students. In addition to the graduate school, this intellectual powerhouse incorporates schools of medicine, dentistry, nursing and public health. The campus also includes NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, ranked within the top 10 in the nation. Columbia’s diverse academic resources and proximity to other scientific institutions offer endless opportunities to attend data clubs, lectures and symposia, as well as to pursue research collaborations or learn new techniques.

We offer a range of nationally top-ranked PhD Programs. Regardless of program affiliation, students have access to our more than 350 training faculty when selecting their research direction, ensuring that each student receives optimal training and research experience. We also provide a supportive environment which goes beyond academics. We seek to foster a spirit of cooperation and communication rather than competitiveness amongst students and laboratories.
